Good news for movie fans, especially fans of independent films you might not find at the local theatre - new film festivals are popping up around the state and offer viewing of all sorts of great films.
We've already discussed the South Dakota Film Festival, scheduled for Sept. 10-12 in Aberdeen.
New is Sioux Falls' Reel Dakota Film Festival, Sept. 24-25.
Held earlier this year was the inaugural Black Hills Film Festival in Hill City.
Of course, coming right up on Aug. 4-7 in Gregory is the Oscar Micheaux Film Festival that I wrote about a few posts back.
Movies of a different sort will be shown and discussed at the SoDak Animation Festival in Brookings Oct. 14-16.
