Many locals played background "Troopers" in this film, which was not a commercial or critical success, but enjoys a cult fan following still. If any of you former "Troopers" are out there, I'd love to hear your stories.
Starship Troopers was a special-effects extravaganza, with scary bug attacks and interesting new weapons. Here is an actual prop gun from the film. The main actors used functioning guns, but most of the extras carried these rubber versions. This one is signed by the director and cast.
